It has been 30 years since Hawaii Five-0 starring Jack Lord disappeared from our TV screens, however, CBS have a reimagining for us with the new, upbeat, sexy and bad boys comical version of Hawaii Five-0.

While transporting a prisoner as a US Navy Seal, Commander Steve McGarrett sees a failed rescue attempt end in the death of his prisoner. On the end of the phone, is his prisoner's brother who organised the rescue and upon hearing that his brother has been killed in the attempt, takes his revenge by killing Steve's father.

McGarrett returns to Hawaii and vows to catch his father's killer. On his arrival he is offered the chance to set up a new task force by the state's Governer. His team will have complete immunity and he will be able to call the shots. After initial reluctance, Steve puts together his own team starting with a friend and protege of his father's, Chin Ho Kelly. Chin Ho used to be a Honolulu police officer but was kicked out over false allegations of corruption.

Steve's second team member is a detective he runs into while searching for clues at his father's house. Danny 'Danno' Williams is a New Jersey cop who is in Hawaii for only one reason, to be close to his 8 year old daughter.
